This bass features a 40 inch string length, and a 36 inch scale.
Luthier Carl Thompson took a hiatus from bass buiding in the early eighties. My bass was the 2nd six string bass that he had built after his long layoff (the first belonging to Gary Kelley).
The bottom end and clarity of this bass, especially in the studio, is simply awesome. It has double EMG bass pickups. I use a 140 low B string.

I have been offered $6,000 for it, but it`s not for sale (ya got that Mr. Claypool!). I use it mostly for ballads, and I don`t use the high C string often.
